Ration shops across Kerala will reopen tomorrow (September 3, 2026) after a two-day holiday on September 1 and 2. The distribution of the September 2026 ration quota will begin from tomorrow. The August quota distribution was completed on August 31. Cardholders are requested to visit their nearest ration shops with their cards to collect their monthly entitlements. The Civil Supplies Department has released the full list of ration items for September. AAY cardholders will get 30 kg rice and 2 kg wheat free, plus 3 atta packets at ₹7 each. PHH cardholders will get 4 kg rice and 1 kg wheat per member free. If wheat is not available, atta packets will be given at ₹9 each. PHH cardholders can also buy up to 3 kg extra rice at ₹26 per kg, depending on stock availability.
NPS cardholders will get 2 kg rice per member at ₹4 per kg, along with 2 kg wheat at ₹8.70 per kg. Additional quota includes up to 10 kg rice at ₹26 per kg and up to 4 kg atta at ₹17 per kg (subject to stock). NPNS cardholders will get 2 kg rice at ₹10.90 per kg, with extra rice up to 10 kg at ₹26 per kg and up to 4 kg atta at ₹17 per kg. NPI cardholders will receive 2 kg rice at ₹10.90 per kg, with additional rice up to 10 kg at ₹26 per kg and up to 1 kg atta at ₹17 per kg.
For the July-September quarter, the kerosene allocation is as follows: AAY cardholders with electricity will get 1 liter; PHH, NPS, and NPNS cardholders with electricity will get 0.5 liters. Households without electricity will get 6 liters of kerosene, regardless of card type. The Civil Supplies Department has urged everyone to collect their rations on time and carry their ration cards.
